The first payment service provider to offer Klarna in Belgium

Lokeren, June 23, 2020 – After the launch of Klarna in Belgium, the European PSP Mollie now announces that it will immediately make it possible for Belgian webshops and providers to Add Klarna as payment method. With Klarna, consumers can pay later and the webshop is paid within five working days.
With the increase in the number of online transactions, we see consumers increasingly opting for payment options that involve fewer risks. Especially in these times, when so many plans fall into the water or have to be adjusted, deferred payment can offer a solution and remove a lot of uncertainty. It also increases the flexibility of the check-out and exudes confidence. Consumers therefore return faster: Klarna users shop 20% more often and have an average order value that is 16% higher.
“We are very pleased to add Klarna to our list of Belgian payment options,” said Ken Serdons, Chief Commercial Officer at Mollie. “By offering this as the first payment service provider in Belgium and making it – just like the other payment methods – easy to integrate, we also show how committed Mollie is to further developing the webshops in Belgium and the e-commerce sector in general. make it grow.”
Wilko Klaassen, Director for the Netherlands and Belgium at Klarna: “In a growing e-commerce market, trust is an important factor. Shoppers always want a safe and user-friendly experience, while webshops in turn like a process with as few obstacles as possible. With Klarna via Mollie, the entire payment process runs smoothly and easily, with one click, and that obviously benefits conversion.”
“The collaboration with Mollie is relatively new (2018), but one of the most innovative. Our brands fit well together and there is a clear click between Mollie and Klarna in terms of vision, growth ambition and corporate culture. We work well together in several countries, and this step to be the first to enter a new market (for Klarna) with Mollie was a no brainer. In terms of product development, there are also a few very cool features coming this year,” said Jasper Scheffer, Head of Partnerships for the Netherlands and Belgium at Klarna.
