On Friday, June 4, Mollie puts on a running outfit for a run through Amsterdam-North. ''We run for a good cause: the sponsorship proceeds from Run Mollie Run go to Justdiggit, a non-profit organization that breathes new life into withered areas and thus prevents global warming.''
Digging to regreen
Justdiggit is a special Mollie customer: they sell pits. “They call them Bunds,” says Marsha van Doorn, fire specialist at Mollie. “They dig them in depleted soil in Africa, together with local farmers who receive compensation for this. The bunds retain rainwater, making the soil fertile again and allowing vegetation to recover. For example, Justdiggit ensures that the area becomes greener and cools, and ultimately that the earth warms less quickly.’ One bund costs €5 and can make an area of 124 m2 green.

Justdiggit makes a huge impact with an intelligent, yet practical solution. We like that at Mollie. And of course we are happy to contribute to a greener world.
Mollie runs for bunds
So on June 4, Mollie runs for bunds. “The proceeds from our sponsored walk are directly converted into pits for Justdiggit,” says Van Doorn. “And we’re deploying a doubler. So the number of bunds that we run together is multiplied by two.’ 80 Mollie employees have now registered. Everyone runs 5 or 10 kilometers through Amsterdam-North.

We are very happy with our new partnership with Mollie. They’re off to a good start with this cool promotion! Thanks to the many kilometers that Mollies will be running in Amsterdam, we can once again green many square meters in Africa. In this way we not only support the diggers in Africa who are digging the bunds, but we also contribute to restoring, greening and thus cooling the country.
