CHRO Susan Wilson and CFO Joe Katz: Welcome to Mollie’s Growing Leadership Team

We are delighted to have two great new people join Mollie's senior leadership team. Susan Wilson will be our Chief Human Resources Officer, and Joe Katz our Chief Financial Officer.

Susan first worked at Uber, where she led Uber’s HR Business Partner and HR Specialist teams as EMEA HR Director. She did that for both Uber Rides and Uber Eats. Before that, she was a Senior HR Business Partner in Africa and the Middle East, supporting Uber employees in 14 countries. Before joining Uber, Susan led HR teams in the financial services industry for nearly a decade for giants such as ABN AMRO, Thomson Reuters, Standard Chartered Bank and Barclays.

“I’m really looking forward to working at Mollie,” Susan says. “Last year I lived in Amsterdam, where I heard nothing but praise for the fun, energetic and engaging corporate culture at Mollie. My job revolves around utilizing that corporate culture, because that is what has made Mollie so successful. As we scale up further, it is important to structure and nurture that culture. My time at a rapidly scale-up tech company and my years in financial services made Mollie the perfect career opportunity for me.”

After his financial career at UPC and helping a friend start Story Corps, Joe Katz moved to ING Bank. He worked there for almost 25 years and held various positions. The most recent: Chief Risk Officer for the Netherlands, a business unit with 10,000 employees and roughly 2.5 billion euros in profit. Previously, Joe was Head of Business Banking, looking after ING’s 2.5 million small and medium-sized businesses in nine different jurisdictions.

“Every SME is different. Historically, it has not been easy for financial institutions to serve this critical segment. Mollie has done a great job, and is even on track to become everyone’s favorite PSP. But we can do so much more, so it’s an exciting time to come and work at Mollie. As the business matures, we need to invest in sustainable processes without losing our unique corporate culture. What attracted me to Mollie is that there is no hierarchical or bureaucratic structure; individuals can have a significant impact on their own. We want to keep it that way.”

To prepare for future growth, Mollie has been expanding the team at all levels for some time now. Susan and Joe are the latest additions to Mollie’s management team, following the appointments of Shane Happach< /a> (CEO), Rogier Schoute (Chief Product Officer) and Julien Cordonnier (Chief Operations Officer) earlier this year.
