Mollie expands and strengthens the executive team and board to accelerate growth

Marco dos Santos from Booking.com appointed as Chief Technology Officer, Ken Serdons joined as Chief Commercial Officer and Daniel Ropers will assist the company as a strategic advisor.
Amsterdam, 16 July 2020 – Mollie, one of the leading payment service providers in Europe, today announces the appointment of Marco dos Santos as Chief Technology Officer. The hiring of Marco marks the latest big step in driving forward Mollie’s vision to become the most loved PSP in Europe.
Marco joins Mollie from Booking.com where he worked for more than 10 years. He will oversee the development of the technical strategy and product development roadmap for the company. His most recent role at Booking.com was Senior Director of Software Development. Marco will be applying his extensive experience in software and product development to further strengthen Mollie’s ‘product and customer first‘-approach. The company firmly believes that - when it comes to financial services – ‘simple’ is the magic word. That is why they focus on delivering simple lean payment solutions that help merchants to grow their company and make their financial processes more efficient .

Over the last few months Mollie attracted a number of experienced professionals to further accelerate its growth and international expansion ambitions:
- Ken Serdons joined the company as Chief Commercial Officer earlier this year. Before joining Mollie he was a Senior Executive at Worldpay and Paymentsense.
- Koen Köppen, Chief Technology Officer at Klarna, also joined Mollie’s Supervisory Board.
- Daniel Ropers, former CEO of bol.com and Springer Nature, will assist the company as a Strategic Advisor to the Board and the Executive Team.
