The first payment partner
Did you know that Mollie was Shopify’s first payment partner in the Benelux? Mollie founder Adriaan Mol has taken care of this himself. He posted a message in the Shopify Community: “There are several examples of customers who cannot opt for Shopify, because a good Dutch payment method (iDEAL) is missing. However, we don’t prefer other solutions as Shopify offers the best product.” Thanks to this insight, the collaboration with Mollie officially started in 2015 with the two most important payment methods in the Benelux: iDEAL for the Netherlands and Bancontact for Belgium.

Mollie now offers all important payment methods that you need as an entrepreneur to grow in Europe. It is now easier than ever to activate relevant payment methods such as credit card, PayPal and SEPA. And it doesn’t stop there, Klarna and Apple Pay will also be available soon. In addition, where you used to have to switch back and forth between the two platforms, you now activate each payment method directly from your Shopify dashboard.
