With Mollie, you can show prices in your customersโ local currency and offer their preferred local payment methods.
When a customer pays in a currency different from your primary balance currency, Mollie automatically converts the payment and adds the funds to your primary balance.
For example, if your primary balance is in EUR and a customer pays in USD, Mollie converts the payment from USD into EUR and adds it to your EUR balance.

If you need to pay foreign suppliers in their local currency, it can be useful to receive revenue from that country in the currency in which it was paid.
For example, if a customer pays in GBP, the funds can be added to your GBP balance rather than automatically converted into your primary currency. Mollie will then pay out the funds to a compatible GBP bank account.

FAQ
What is FX conversion?
FX (short for Foreign Exchange) conversion is the process of exchanging one currency for another. With Mollie, foreign-currency payments are automatically converted into the currency of your primary balance.
For example, a payment made in USD can be converted into EUR and added to your EUR balance.
What is a multi-currency balance?
A multi-currency balance allows you to receive and hold funds in a currency other than your primary balance currency. This means you can keep a payment in the currency in which it was received instead of automatically converting it. You can use these funds to pay your bills from international suppliers.
How do I add a multi-currency balance?
This help centre article explains the process step-by-step.
Note: itโs required for you to have a bank account that accepts the currency you are creating a balance for.
What is the difference between FX and multi-currency?
Mollie automatically converts foreign-currency payments into your primary balance currency, also known as FX conversions.
With multi-currency, you have balances that receive and hold funds in the currency in which they were paid. This can be useful if you regularly receive significant revenue or pay expenses in a particular foreign currency.
Can I use FX conversion and multi-currency balances together?
Yes. You can use automatic FX conversion for some foreign-currency payments and multi-currency balances for currencies that you want to hold and manage separately.
Can I convert funds between my Mollie balances?
Yes. Balance-to-balance conversion allows you to convert funds between supported Mollie currency balances.
Which currencies does Mollie support?
Mollie supports FX conversion across 28 currencies.
Multi-currency balances are available in AUD, CAD, CHF, CZK, DKK, EUR, GBP, HUF, NOK, PLN, RON, SEK and USD.
Do I need a foreign-currency bank account?
