Mollie and Sendcloud join forces to simplify paid returns
Sendcloud and Mollie: paid returns made easy
We’re partnering with shipping platform Sendcloud to make managing paid returns effortless for online businesses. The end of free returns seems near, following Zara’s announcement to charge consumers for returns. As 84% of European online shoppers regularly return a product if they are not satisfied, online businesses have been struggling to deal with returns for years. To help, we’re partnering with Sendcloud to simplify the paid returns process.
Using paid returns is an excellent way to make the refund process more efficient, reduce costs, and cut the carbon footprint of return flows. But manually deducting this fee every time a refund is processed can be time-consuming and challenging to manage. In an exclusive partnership, we’re working with Sendcloud to launch Paid Returns. Businesses using Sendcloud’s Return Portal can effortlessly enable return payments to process return fees via Mollie. The feature allows them to automatically and effortlessly charge customers for the price of their return label while offering a smooth return process.
“Mollie constantly strives to offer the best payments experience to our customers in order for them to thrive in the ecommerce landscape,” says Ken Serdons, Mollie’s CCO. “There is a clear rise in the need for an easy, seamless, and efficient paid returns process, and we’re delighted to partner with Sendcloud to meet that demand.”
How do Paid Returns work?
For businesses: Businesses integrated with Sendcloud can easily add the Return Portal to their online stores to offer a smooth return experience. Once enabled, they can activate Paid Returns by connecting their Mollie account with Sendcloud. Ecommerce businesses can use smart ‘return rules’ to manage who they charge for returns. For retailers who don’t yet have a Mollie account, signing up is simple, easy, and gives them access to immediate support.
For shoppers: Once activated, shoppers can easily create a return using the Sendcloud Return Portal. After entering a return, shoppers will be redirected to the payment page, where they can select their preferred payment method. A return shipping label will become available for download once the payment is accepted.
“Businesses often preconceive the returns process to be a real headache and have been struggling with the rising costs of returns for years,” says Rob van den Heuvel, CEO and co-founder of Sendcloud. “However, after Zara’s announcement to start charging consumers for returns, the end of an era seems to be near. We are proud to partner with Mollie to simplify the complexity of paid returns. By allowing online businesses to easily process return fees using a wide range of payment options throughout Europe, we can offer both consumers and businesses an easy returns process.”
