We’re partnering with shipping platform Sendcloud to make managing paid returns effortless for online businesses. The end of free returns seems near, following Zara’s announcement to charge consumers for returns. As 84% of European online shoppers regularly return a product if they are not satisfied, online businesses have been struggling to deal with returns for years. To help, we’re partnering with Sendcloud to simplify the paid returns process.

Using paid returns is an excellent way to make the refund process more efficient, reduce costs, and cut the carbon footprint of return flows. But manually deducting this fee every time a refund is processed can be time-consuming and challenging to manage. In an exclusive partnership, we’re working with Sendcloud to launch Paid Returns. Businesses using Sendcloud’s Return Portal can effortlessly enable return payments to process return fees via Mollie. The feature allows them to automatically and effortlessly charge customers for the price of their return label while offering a smooth return process.

How do Paid Returns work?

For businesses: Businesses integrated with Sendcloud can easily add the Return Portal to their online stores to offer a smooth return experience. Once enabled, they can activate Paid Returns by connecting their Mollie account with Sendcloud. Ecommerce businesses can use smart ‘return rules’ to manage who they charge for returns. For retailers who don’t yet have a Mollie account, signing up is simple, easy, and gives them access to immediate support.

For shoppers: Once activated, shoppers can easily create a return using the Sendcloud Return Portal. After entering a return, shoppers will be redirected to the payment page, where they can select their preferred payment method. A return shipping label will become available for download once the payment is accepted.
