In our new "Product in the Spotlight" series, we’ll be highlighting a different product, feature or plug-in each month. For this first edition, we’re zooming in on the Mollie App.

What is the Mollie App? 

As you might have guessed from the name, the Mollie App is the mobile app that gives customers like you access to your Mollie account. With the Mollie App, you have your business at your fingertips anytime, anywhere. Plus, the app is completely free

How does the Mollie App make your life easier?

As a business owner, you’re always on the move. Whether you’re rushing from one meeting to another or heading from the office to the warehouse, your days are always action-packed.

You don’t always have time to pull out your laptop when you just want to check on your transactions and see your Mollie account balance. That’s what the Mollie app is for! But there’s also a lot more that the app has to offer.


Anyone on your team can use the Mollie App. Through the settings menu in your Mollie Dashboard, you can assign new team members from your organisation. The information they have access to depends on the role they’re assigned (administrator, developer, finance, support or read-only).

What can you do with the Mollie App?

Check your Balance and Payments

Check the available balance of your Mollie account at any time of the day. The handy graph also lets you easily compare your current transaction volume with previous periods. That gives you a clear view of how your revenue evolves over time. 

You can know your balance at all times and how much will you get in your bank account.

Keep a close eye on the payout date to know when the funds will be transferred to your bank account.

Manage your transactions and make refunds

The Mollie app is the ideal tool for tracking and managing your transactions. You can also use it to process refunds.

Monitor: View and search all your orders. Check your Order details (customer name and address, products, quantity, amount, status, payment method).

Ship, Cancel and Refund: Ship Orders. Use the barcode scanner to instantly add the courier tracking code to the Order shipping details.

Create a Payment Link or QR code, share it with your customers and let them pay immediately. You can even personalise payment requests so they completely match your business. 

Letting customers pay via a payment link (or QR code) is an excellent solution if you’re doing business on the go, have a pop-up shop or just want to offer quick, easy payments for the best customer experience. Your customers will be able to pay using the payment methods you have activated in your account. Reporting and reconciliation are integrated with all the online payments you receive.

In the Mollie app, you can create payment requests with one tap of a button share it through your preferred channels (email, SMS, chat services etc).

Manage your orders: send, cancel and refund anytime, anywhere

As long as an order has not shipped, you can change the number of items or cancel the order through the Mollie App. You can also refund the amount of an order once it has been paid or shipped.

Get real-time notifications

Enable real-time notifications so you’re always up to date on how your business is doing. For example, you can set the app to notify you whenever you receive a new payment or when an order is about to expire. In the settings menu, choose which push notifications you want to receive.

How do you get started with the Mollie App? 

Download the app from the App Store or Google Play

Link your Mollie account to the app by logging in with your email address and password. Choose the organisation you want to connect to the app and tap “Next”.

The app will then show you some suggestions to enable useful features like push notifications. You can also activate your fingerprint or facial recognition to quickly login. You can always adjust this later in the Settings menu as well.

I use the Mollie app 6 to 10 times a day. It’s the easiest way for me to check how much turnover we’ve made anytime, anywhere [...] The app also lets my employees easily generate and send out payment links. I find it very handy that I can see the turnover for each day, week or past 30 days. Without even opening up my laptop, I can immediately see if I need to check something, such as orders that are due soon.
