Mollie Terminal integrates in-person and online payments for unified commerce
Mollie, one of the fastest growing financial services providers in Europe, today launched its in-person payments solution, Mollie Terminal. Initially available in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands, the launch marks a pivotal move for Mollie, further strengthening its unified commerce payments proposition. Mollie Terminal adds to its existing in-person payments support that uses QR codes, and Mollie will launch Tap to Pay for Android later this year. Mollie is enhancing its in-person offering in response to the growing demand from its 130,000 customers, many of whom operate both online and physical stores. With a growing number of customers expressing the need for a unified solution that caters to both brick-and-mortar and online stores, Mollie Terminal solves problems traditional point of sale (POS) providers cannot.
Mollie Terminal works through a single API for both online and in-person payments and accepts relevant payment methods and wallets. Operating on both 4G and Wi-Fi, Mollie Terminal is sent to merchants pre-configured so they can start accepting payments immediately. Merchants can report, reconcile and settle all processed payments via the Mollie Dashboard, eliminating arduous paper-based tasks usually associated with ‘closing the day’. In preparation for the launch, Mollie Terminal was offered to a small group of customers.
One of these was Mark Wichers at WAVE7, who said: “I’d highly recommend the Mollie Terminal if you’re looking to easily reconcile all your online and in-person payments in one place. Integrating the terminal is quick and easy – and the connection is flawless!”Mollie Terminal provides its partners with an in-person solution that seamlessly integrates into their platforms, and offers their users a flexible and reliable payments solution and recurring revenue streams. It also gives individual merchants a highly intuitive API-connected solution.
Koen Koppen, CEO of Mollie said, “Mollie Terminal is an important milestone launch and a critical part of our in-person payments offering, further strengthening our position in the unified commerce payments market. With our customers' high regard for Mollie’s online proposition, we are delighted to be able to meet the needs of customers offline too. As our customers have come to expect, Mollie Terminal offers competitive pricing, local support and immense flexibility. Our solution delivers an integrated and flexible point of sale solution that saves merchants time and money.”
The Mollie Terminal will initially be offered to customers in Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands, with plans for expansion to other European markets later this year. Find out more about Mollie's in-person payments offering today.
